She's Here!

We're getting settled in at home after welcoming Miss Katherine Clare into our lives. She's absolutely beautiful, coming from this biased mama. After a great day (thanks to awesome nurses, docs, and a wonderful anesthetist!) Kate was born at 3:51 pm on August 18th. Its amazing how instantaneously a mother's heart swells to double capacity! Weighing in at 7 lb 9 oz, she's ironically within an oz of doubling Logan's birth weight! She still seems SOOO tiny, and now Logan seems SOOO big. I swear Logan gained 10 lb from the time we went into the hospital until we returned.

Having Kate at home makes me appreciate our introduction to parenthood with Logan, and I'm so grateful for it. When we brought Logan home he was trained :) and on a schedule. We were able to wade through so many of the issues of being first-time parents (feeding, sleeping, diapers. . . ) with great help and nurses. It prepared us immensely for baby 2 (it may help some that we went through this whole homecoming thing less than a year ago). Its easier to be relaxed and know that eventually, things work out. So far, she's a great baby--she's been a great eater from the start and its so much fun to sit back and watch the two of them.
I'm ready to enjoy some time as a full-time Mom now (for a little while anyway) but first I'm gonna enjoy a nap ;) More to come!
